| One out of three persons develops cancer during his or her lifetime, and unfortunately the disease can be cured in only half of the cases. Cancer remains therefore a major challenge to experimental biology, which aims at elucidating the causes of this disease, and providing the basis for new therapeutic progress. |

| ISREC
pledges:
- by translational research
to select and support cancer research projects helping the transfer of knowledge and collaboration between fundamental research and clinical research. The goal of these projects consists in providing new paths to novel therapies and clinical approaches through the exploration of cells and their interactions with their environment in order to act on the causes provoking dysfunctions.
to support projects encouraging the scientific and academic future in cancer research, in particular in supporting PhD students in biology or medicine taking part in doctoral programs.
