Cancer is the 2nd cause of mortality (women - men (French version)) in Switzerland, after cardio-vascular disease.
In Switzerland, about 30'000 new cases are registered each year.
One out of three persons develops cancer during his or her lifetime, and unfortunately the disease can only be cured in half of the cases.

What is translational research ?
The objective of translational research is to find new ways to innovative therapies and clinical approaches by studying cells and their interactions with their environment in order to act on the causes of cellular dysfunction.
