Congratulations to Prof. Denis Migliorini, M.D., holder of the ISREC Foundation chair in brain tumor immunology: he and his colleagues at the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) have achieved a significant breakthrough in the treatment of glioblastoma, the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof. Migliorini\u2019s team has succeeded in identifying a specific marker on the surface of tumor cells and in generating CAR-T immune cells capable of targeting and killing diseased cells while sparing healthy tissues. These promising results, published in the journal Cancer Immunology Research, are a first step towards the development of clinical trials aimed at improving treatments for this devastating disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
