Prof. Mikaël Pittet’s inaugural lecture will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 12.30 pm. His talk, entitled “Cancer immunotherapy: the next steps”, can be attended as a video conference. Prof. Pittet will describe how his research will contribute to closing knowledge gaps in the emerging field of immunotherapies, thereby providing hope for more effective treatment of various types of cancer. Prof. Pittet’s chair in immuno-oncology is supported by the ISREC Foundation.

The ISREC Foundation is proud to support Prof. Mikaël Pittet’s chair in immuno-oncology at the UNIGE. According to the “Web of Science” ranking, Prof. Pittet is among the most cited researchers in 2020. This achievement underlines the excellence and the importance of his scientific research, and serves as a fine recognition of his work.
The ISREC Foundation is honored to contribute to the research work in translational oncology performed in the laboratory of Prof. Curzio Rüegg at the University of Fribourg.
An article describing his work has been published in the Swiss Cancer Bulletin, edition 04/2020.
Congratulations to the Ludwig Lausanne research teams led by Prof. George Coukos. They have received the prestigious “Team Science Award” of the “Society for Immunotherapy for Cancer”, which honors research teams that have made an outstanding contribution to immunotherapy.
Congratulations to Prof. Gisou van der Goot from EPFL. In recognition of her contributions to the life sciences, she has been awarded the prestigious Suffrage Science award, which celebrates the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering, and medicine.
Congratulations to Prof. Ping-Chih Ho for the publication of his work in the renowned journal “Nature Immunology”. His study shows that a common dietary supplement may improve the efficacy of cancer immunotherapies. The ISREC Foundation supports Prof. Ho’s work.
Congratulations to Prof. Denis Migliorini, whose work has been published in the renowned journal Cell. The article describes the mechanism of a complicated side effect of CAR-T cell therapies. This discovery paves the way for the creation of a new CAR-T lymphocyte generation that makes it possible to avoid this side effect. Prof. Migliorini’s research is funded by the ISREC Foundation.
Professor Ping-Chih Ho of the Ludwig Institute / Lausanne branch recently received a CRI Lloyd J. Old STAR award. His work focuses on how tumors shape their metabolic adaptations to counteract the anti-cancer immune response, and how these adaptations could be used for immunotherapy. Prof. Ho’s research is supported by the ISREC Foundation.
Novelty in the field of oncology. The CHUV is testing a promising radiotherapy against cancer.
