Congratulations to Efe Erdes, who is supported by the ISREC Foundation, on his publication in “Frontiers in Immunology”. The article describes the impact of increasing NY-ESO-1 tumor antigen affinity of T-cell receptors (TCRs) on the activation of T lymphocytes and their signaling cascade, as well as on their regulation at the level of the SHP phosphatase molecules. Efe Erdes is first co-author of this paper, along with Danilo Presotto, initiator of the study.

World Cancer Day takes place every year on February 4 to unite the world in the fight against cancer. This day aims to raise awareness by spreading information concerning the disease.

On the occasion of the World Cancer Day and within the framework of the Réseau Romand d’Oncologie, two afternoons for professionals and two conference evenings for a general audience will be held simultaneously in Geneva and Lausanne. The programme includes various talks supported by the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) and the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG), and given by specialists in the field.
